Industry Innovators

Tapping the power of big ideas.

placement onlyWhat does innovation look like? Discussion in any industry’s management circles usually treats the subject as some vague business panacea. Want your company to be an industry leader? Need to find new customers? Open new markets? Simple. You must innovate. Webster’s dictionary defines innovation as “the introduction of something new.” We agree with that, although we thought we would put a finer point on it. This section highlights a few creative businesspeople who’ve harnessed the power of their big ideas: the creator of the new Web model for tourism marketing, the executive charged with introducing the Twin Cities to the world during the Republican National Convention, the designer behind some of the area’s best-known hospitality spaces, and an event planner on the fast track to bigger things. Read how their creative ideas have not only bolstered their careers (and company bottom lines), they have also given to the region’s hospitality industry “something new.”
